ABOUT TAMESIDEThe opening of the M60 in 2000 has already had a great and positive impact on the local economy, with activity and interest at an all time high. Tameside is the place to do business east of Manchester….the next big success story. The Borough of Tameside is located 7 miles to the east of Manchester bordering Oldham, High Peak, Manchester and Stockport. Tameside covers 40 square miles and has nine towns within its boundary. Each town enjoys a unique character of its own making Tameside a genuinely diverse place to visit and do business. Tameside forms part of the Greater Manchester sub region. The partners in the Greater Manchester Forum have developed a sub-regional Economic Development Plan and Tameside’s own plan will complement this document. see The Tameside Economic Development Zone covering Droylsden East, Droylsden West, Ashton St Peters, Audenshaw and Denton West is “...a regionally significant centre for employment growth, strategically located at the gateway between East Manchester and the M60 corridor.
