Godley Hill/The Thorns/ Mottram Road, Hyde

Located between Godley and Hattersley, close to the M67, this area includes the Kerry Foods industrial site, agricultural land at The Thorns and covered reservoir. Housing is currently being developed on Mottram Road. Land owned by the Council around the Thorns has been identified in the UDP as an area designated for employment generating use.

A development brief has been prepared but no specific scheme has been agreed. Future plans for the area need to take into account the presence of Kerry Foods, housing tenure changes in nearby Hattersley and special landscape features around the site.
