Bellway Homes' new housing development at the bottom of Wellbeck St South is now completed.

The three bedroom end mews town house will give potential buyers the chance to see the new canalside housing development for the first time. The development plans include the re-opening of the canal towpath which is still visible beneath the outer walls of the mill.

Complementing the new housing is the recently restored Portland Heritage Centre housing a museum and accommodation for events. In addition to the housing development, Groundwork Tameside is working with local businesses to create an NWDA supported 'Green Business Park'.

Tameside Council, working through Ashton Regeneration Project has worked in partnership with the developer and British Waterways to take forward this development.
